Playing guitar for almost 15 years it was an “inner-feeling” that told me to honor this popular instrument. Furthermore it helped increasing modeling and texturing skills a lot.
As any instrument, a guitar accompanies the musician for multiple years, which leads to unique usemarks such as dents, scratches and any kind of abrasion. Those “scars” give an instrument an own history, which a stock-new one doesnt have.
Therefore the creation of a heavily used, destructed version of the LP was more desirable than a clean, fresher one. It also included the opportunity to work on advanced shading, texturing and complex material buildups.
