Basically the first project I was working on during my time at Faber Courtial. The project included a historical correct reconstruction of Hamburg in four timeframes (18th, 16th, 14th and 12th century).
My main job here was a lot of hard surface modeling, including four of the five main churches/cathedrals of hamburg as well as a lot of harbour-related smaller and bigger assets such as cranes. In addition the recreation of some of the mid-and bigger-sized ships.
In a team of three we had been responsible in creating a time-lapse scene visualising a perdiod of multiple years. Working with a highly talented Max-script teammate, the process was “fairly” easy to accomplish. The trick was to pop up pre-organised assets for several frames in a random fashion and giving them a little noisy jet static effect.
I also had the chance to create various key-frame animations in this project.
My final task here was to “bring the city alife” by decorating scenes an placing huge amounts of props that represent little stories about Hamburgs inhibitants and giving the scenes a natural overall look.
